    • 1976年獲得美國紐約州立大學水牛城分校機械工程碩士，主修機構學，
    • 1984年獲得英國曼徹斯特科技大學機械工程博士，主修工 具機精度學。

      • 臺灣大學工業工程研究所所長 （1994－1995）；
      • 臺灣大學慶齡工業研究中心主任（1992－1998）；
      • 臺灣大學工學院副院長（1999－2000）；
      • 臺灣大學育成中心主任(2000-2005);

    • markKuang-Chao Fan received the B.Sc. degree from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 1972, M.Sc. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in USA in 1976, and Ph.D. degree from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in UK in 1984, all in mechanical engineering.
    • markHe has been a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University since 1989. He was the Chairman of Institute of Industrial Engineering of NTU, the Chairman of Chinese Institute of Automation Technology, the Chairman of SME Taipei Chapter, the Director of Tjing Ling Industrial Research Institute, and the Associate Dean of Engineering College at the National Taiwan University. He was the consultant to the Ministry of Education from 1994 to 1999. Since 1994 he has been appointed as national project reviewer for Taiwan government. He has been the Cheung Kong Scholar at the Hefei University of Technology since 2001. In 2003, he received the distinguished research award from National Science Council of ROC. In 2007, he received the University Level Industry Economic Contribution Award by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, ROC. He has been elected as the distinguished professor and Chung Juo-Chang Chair by National Taiwan University since 2007. He was elected as the Fellow of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) in 2008.
      His research interests include manufacturing metrology, precision machining, and machine tool technology. His recent researches are focused on the 3D micro/nano measurement technologies for meso/micro objects, such as the nano-scale, nano-positioning, micro-probe, and micro-CMM. With the advanced micro/nano technologies, his group also successfully developed some miniature optical switches. He has published more than 100 journal papers and 200 conference papers.
    • markHe is the board member of ICMI, editor of Int. J. of RCIM and Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering (China) Journals, and the reviewer of Precision Engineering, Measurement Science & Technology, IJPR, IMECH.
